zeluxa.com sets no cookies. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no tracking of any kind. Nothing gets stored in your browser, and we build no profile of you.
Most cookie policies run three thousand words because the site behind them tracks a great deal. Ours is short because there is little to describe. The rest of this page explains what happens instead.
What a cookie actually is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep. On your next visit, the browser hands it back, which is how a site recognises you.
Some cookies do useful work, like remembering that you are signed in. Others follow you between sites to build an advertising profile. The word covers both, and that is why the term causes such confusion.
Similar technologies do the same job under different names: local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, browser fingerprinting. We use none of them either.
Why you see no cookie banner
You see no banner because we have nothing to ask you about. A consent banner exists to obtain permission for tracking. We do no tracking, so a banner would waste a click and tell you nothing true.
Check for yourself. Open your browser's developer tools, look under Storage or Application, and you will find the cookie list for this domain empty.
What the site does load
Two things reach outside our server when a page opens.
Google Fonts
We use two typefaces, Fraunces and Inter, and your browser fetches them from Google's font servers. That request tells Google your IP address, your browser, and which font you asked for. Google states it uses this to serve the font and to keep aggregate usage counts, and that it sets no cookie when doing so.
We receive nothing back from Google, and we send Google nothing about you. To avoid the request altogether, block third-party font loading in your browser or use an extension that does it. The site stays perfectly readable in a fallback typeface.
The contact form
Nothing leaves your browser until you press submit. When you do, the form posts through FormSubmit, which forwards your message to our inbox. Ignore the form and it sends nothing.
Server logs
Our host, Web Hosting Canada, records the requests its servers answer: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's identifying string. Every web server keeps a log like this. It is how anyone diagnoses a fault or spots an attack.
These logs sit on servers in Canada, and our host rotates them on its own schedule. We do not mine them, and we do not link them to anything you send us.
Controlling cookies anyway
Nothing here needs your intervention, though you may want to review the rest of your browsing. Every major browser lets you inspect stored cookies, delete them, and block them ahead of time:
Blocking cookies site-wide breaks logins on many sites. It will not break anything here.
If this changes
We may one day add analytics to understand which pages people read. Doing that would trigger three commitments, and we are writing them down now so you can hold us to them.
- We rewrite this page before the first script goes live, and we name every tool and what it collects.
- We ask Canadian visitors to opt in first, meeting the Quebec standard rather than the softer federal one, and the tracking script stays dormant until you agree.
- Declining stays as easy as accepting. One click, equal prominence, no dark patterns, and no pre-ticked boxes.
The date at the top of this page changes whenever its content does.
Where Canadian law sits on this
Cookies that identify a person count as personal information under Canadian privacy law, which is why consent enters the picture at all.
Federal law under PIPEDA accepts implied consent for low-risk analytics, provided the site gives clear notice and an easy opt-out. Quebec's Law 25 sets a higher bar and demands express opt-in before a tracking technology fires, with no implied route available.
Neither standard binds us today, since we track nothing at all. Should that change, we will apply the Quebec standard across Canada rather than sort visitors by province.
